The summer festival at the castle of Santa Severa ends with a full house

The summer programming of the summer festival “Experience the Castle of Santa Severa” ended on 31 August, with free entry promoted by the Lazio Region and organized by the in-house company LAZIOcrea in collaboration with ATCL – Multidisciplinary Circuit of Lazio.  The program enlivened the summer at the seaside for holidaymakers, tourists and residents and received significant appreciation, registering a full house for the proposals on the billboard with around 35,000 people in total who chose both the artists and the cultural proposals scheduled in the ancient manor.

“The extraordinary summer season of Santa Severa is coming to an end, which has delighted families and tourists staying on the Roman coast, an increasingly recognized destination on a global level, and not just regionally” – declares the Councilor for Culture, Renata Simona Baldassarre. “This is thanks to the great naturalistic and historical-artistic value of an area which, from the sea to the lake, from culture to food and wine, has all it takes to compete with the most well-known tourist destinations. The artistic programming of Santa Severa has been inserted into this framework, because we strongly believe that entertainment is the multiplier of the value of a territory, with its ability to create community, intrigue the traveler, enliven the cultural heritage. We will therefore continue in this direction, with the aim of increasingly deseasonalizing the castle’s programming, which must be an attraction all year round”.

It was a summer full of events in one of the most evocative places in the Lazio region, a heritage of enormous historical, artistic and cultural value to be visited all year round also with guided tours and the cultural offer of the Museum of the Sea and of Ancient Navigation and the Castle Museum as well as the hostel’s accommodation for young people and families.

From 2 September the autumn opening hours return with opening from Tuesday to Friday from 9.00 to 18.00, while Saturday and Sunday from 10.00 to 19.00. Closed on Mondays for weekly rest.

The Castle is a monumental complex owned by the Lazio Region, managed by LAZIOcrea, in agreement with Mic, the Municipality of Santa Marinella and Coopculture
