Discovering Pyrgi
13 July 2019 @ 9:00 - 24 August 2019 @ 18:00
Discovering Pyrgi from an unusual and fascinating point of view.
Fantastic unique experience, visit the Castle of Santa Severa and its Beauties from an unusual point of view. Starting in sup (Stand Up Paddling) from the beach in the north of the castle, walking a few hundred meters, we will observe the seabed that is located between the Castle of Santa Severa and the Emporic sanctuary of Pyrgi, for an extension of about 250 to 150 meters. This area is full of archaeological evidence. Thanks to the systematic reconnaissance carried out by the Center for Maritime Studies of the Archaeological Group of the Cerite Territory, operating at the Museum of the Sea and Ancient Navigation, which will guide us, it was possible to realize the first archaeological map bottom. Currently, many archaeological remains from various eras (from the Etruscan to the Renaissance) are visible and can be admired during the excursion.
