“Aperimusica” With Toni Germani For “Castello In Jazz” Concerts

“Aperimusica” at the Castle of Santa Severa with the concerts of “Castello in Jazz”. The event is organized by Stefano Marzolla, in collaboration with Regione Lazio, LAZIOcrea SpA, MiBACT, Santa Marinella Municipality, Coopculture and will continue in July, August and September.

On July 26, at 19, on stage the quartet led by Toni Germani, Alto and tenor sax, a musician active on the Roman scene for years that will play a program for him unusual but stimulating, composed mainly of jazz repertoire classics characterized by beauty of the melody, and ideally divided into two parts: the first, with a “romantic-sensual” inclination, will be dominated by the “ballads”; the second, more “energetic-vitalistic”, will open up to more “funky” interpretations. To accompany him, the beautiful “sedentary” trio consisting of Francesco Venerucci on the piano, Stefano Marzolla on the double bass and Pietro Fumagalli on drums.

Jazz is a genre of music born in the early twentieth century in the United States of America from the encounter between the musical sensitivity of the Afroo-American community and the European tradition, based on ragtime and elements derived from the Afro folklore (blues, work songs, religious songs) that has become very popular and very quickly characterized by ample freedom and improvisation and to put it with Alessandro Baricco: “When you do not know what it is, then it’s jazz”.
