From 7 to 9 October Mediterranean Youth Council
On 7, 8 and 9 October 2022 the Castle of Santa Severa hosts the plenary assembly of the “Mediterranean Youth Council”, continuation of the work carried out in 2019 with the birth of the CIM Youth Council which, again at the Castle of Santa Severa, was met for the first time with the aim of encouraging direct dialogue with representatives of regional policies.
Regione Lazio, as part of the activities of the same Working Group, in the year 2021, collaborated with the South Region (France) to establish a single group of young people who could unite the CIM Youth Council and the Mediterranean Assembly of young people, a project that the Southern Region has been carrying out for years, in order to give life to the “Mediterranean Youth Council” made up of 30 young people from countries of the North and South of the Mediterranean France, Spain, Italy, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Cyprus, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey Egypt.
The year 2022 has been declared the European Year of Youth by the European Commission in order to give space to the new generations that have been most affected by the pandemic crisis and therefore, the Regions involved and represented by the children, in turn, can organize a session of the Mediterranean Youth Council, hosting the young people who this year will be at the Castle for this first plenary meeting to talk and discuss issues such as interculturality, discrimination, education, digitization and climate change, to give life to a new model of citizenship and representation of the Mediterranean regions
